Last Sunday, Stade Roland Saules de Laissac vibrated in pink colors (of course!) Of women’s football during an event organized by the Union Sportive Laissac-Bertholène (USLB) as part of the call for projects “All Foot 2025” launched by the French Football Federation.
The objective? Strengthen the place of girls in football, enhance practitioners and more involve women in all the club spheres. Indeed, out of 225 licensees, the club has only four players aged 8 to 10, who actively participated in the development of the program for this festive afternoon.
Under the leadership of Clarisse Ferrer, the only female manner of the club, this event has mixed sport, animation and conviviality. The public was able to take advantage of stands: makeup, USLB stencils, a raffle, a photo competition, a quiz on the club and on football in general with clues displayed all around the stadium, but also, a highlight of the day, a 100 % female match, offering total immersion to young girls and women present, whether players, spectators or simple curious.
At the end of the meeting, the election of the best player made it possible to salute the determination, talent and dynamism deployed on the ground.
Beyond the animations, the USLB wanted to shake up traditional roles. No more time when the role of mothers was limited to the making of cakes for refreshments, the event was thought of as a gateway to real responsibilities, by inviting mothers of young dismissed to get involved in the life of the club, especially in coordination, logistics or decision -making roles.
“It is time to give a real place to women in the organization chart of clubs. They have skills, ideas, a vision. You have to change mentalities and work together for football” said Clarisse, the leader behind the demonstration.
With this successful initiative, the USLB hopes to move the lines and open its doors more to women, on and off the field.
Bet won since, girls should join the different categories until U15 and that a senior female team will start training once a week, the goal is, in the long term, to have girls teams.
But this animation has also proven that equality in sport simply begins with an idea, a smile, energy and conviviality.
