The curtain is lifted on the print of the 2025 male Afrobasket! This Friday, May 9, in Luanda (Angola), FIBA unveiled the composition of groups for the flagship continental competition. Senegal, a serious pretender to the coronation, will evolve in group D alongside Egypt, Mali and Uganda.
A raised group that promises electric duels. The “lions”, 2005 vice-champions and accustomed to African games, will have to take out the big game to make their way to the final stages. Faced with them, a formidable Egyptian team, always difficult to maneuver, an ambitious mali in full progression, and a Ugandan selection which has continued to surprise in recent years.
The competition will take place from August 12 to 24, 2025 in Angola, host country and historic bastion of African basketball. The men of Desagana Diop will not only have to show defensive solidity but also offensive efficiency to get their faces in this very homogeneous group.
With a talented generation carried by players playing in the best world championships, Senegal clearly targets a place on the podium, even the title. But the road is long, and each match promises to be crucial.
The countdown is launched for the “Lions” of Téranga. The Afrobasket is already promised as an exciting meeting!
