The President of the National Council of the Maison des Éreux du Senegal, Ismaïla Sow, recalls the concerns of the sector

A few weeks before the Tabaski, or Festival of the Mouton, the president of the Council of Houses of the Breeders, Ismaïla Sow, expressed the concerns of the breeders of Senegal in the face of the economic uncertainty that surrounds the preparations for this celebration.

During an intervention on the RFM, he worried about a probable situation of Mévente with the arrival of the herds of the Senegalese breeders and those of the sub-region, and called on the authorities to clarify the commitments made to the breeders. “You cannot raise for a year, bring the sheep back and that on the eve of the Tabaski, there is a mevent. It is not interesting, ”said the president of the National Council of the Maison des Éreux du Senegal.

Ismaïla Sow recalls that the state had announced the suppression of certain taxes to lighten the charges of breeders, without specifying which ones. “We would like to know which ones,” he insisted, stressing the lack of concrete communication on this subject. Another commitment mentioned: the distribution of livestock food to support the herds present on points of sale during the Tabaski period.
