The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Senegal, led by Khady Diene Gaye, has published a circular letter fixing the calendar of sports activities of the Navétanes movement for 2025. This document, addressed to regional governors, is part of a reform adopted at the Council of Ministers of January 29, 2025.
After the holding of the Council of Ministers of January 29, 2025, the President of the Republic His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye had demanded from the Minister of Sports a reform of the “Navetanes” movement and also the systematic mastery of the calendar, duration and activities.
In a circular letter addressed to the regional governors, the Minister of Sports has set the calendar of sports activities of the Navétane movement, ” Each year, between July 15 and October 15 at the latest ” Can we read on the document.
Governors are called upon to coordinate these events to guarantee their smooth running, taking care to respect official calendars and prevent overflows.
Navétanes, a true tradition in Senegal, mobilize thousands of young people, especially in football. This initiative reflects the state’s desire to promote sport while ensuring a harmonious and secure organization across the country.
