Yassine Fall strengthens the links between Senegal, Uganda and Tanzania

The Minister of Integration and Foreign Affairs, Yassine Fall, continues her African tour with diplomatic stops in Uganda and Tanzania, after a visit to Rwanda. The objective is to consolidate bilateral relations and explore axes of cooperation between and the countries of Eastern Africa.

According to a note published evening by the ministry on her Facebook page, Yassine Fall had discussions qualified as “fruitful” with the Ugandan authorities. In Kampala, she met Matia Kasaija, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, as well as Lillian Aber, Minister of State in charge of Aid, preparation for disasters and refugees.

In the continuity of its mission, the of Senegalese diplomacy went to Tanzania where it was received by vice-president Philip Isdor Mpango. She also had interviews with the Tanzanian Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba.

These meetings are part of an increased diplomatic effort in Senegal to strengthen strategic partnerships on the continent, at a time when economic, security and climatic challenges require increased cooperation between African states.

Last Tuesday, Yassine Fall was received in audience by Rwandan President Kagamé, to whom she submitted an official message from the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

This trip to Rwanda marked the stage of this diplomatic tour which illustrates the will of Senegal to reposition its foreign policy around a more dynamic and pragmatic African integration.
