The National Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Senegal (UNCCIAS) held its annual general meeting on Monday in Kaffrine (Center). A strategic meeting during which the main national economic players thought about the obstacles to the competitiveness of local businesses, both on the national and international market.
The debates have made it possible to raise recurring issues such as difficult access to financing, insufficient infrastructure, or the low export capacity of Senegalese companies.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the president of UNECIAS, Abdoulaye Sow, said the commitment of his institution to support the government in its new dynamic of decentralization. “We are committed to supporting the Government, through the Ministry of Town Planning, Local Authorities and Territories Planning, in its new policy aimed at implementing territorial centers throughout Senegal,” said SOW during an interview with the press. For him, this is an important lever to bring the economic services closer to regional businesses and stimulate inclusive growth.
