During the second session of current issues in the government, held this Monday, April 14 in the National Assembly on Monday, April 14, the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, announced notable advances in the renegotiation of public contracts. He notably highlighted the results obtained in the fight against overcharging of public procurement.

“What has been renegotiated just on public procurement exceeds 60 billion CFA francs. These are overcharged contracts signed by the fallen regime. We discussed with contracting companies and has been shown to them that these contracts are overcharged. We agreed on the principle and they agreed to redirect the surplus, “said the head of government before the deputies.

He said this operation will not be limited only to public contracts. The government plans to apply the same approach to contracts related to the exploitation of natural resources, in an assertive desire to strengthen national sovereignty. The Prime Minister has thus reaffirmed his commitment to clean up public finance management and defend the interests of the country.
