In a friendly and emblematic atmosphere, the Da’African Village association, established in the United States and led by the tourist guide Mara Diakhaté, planned a sumptuous gala dinner this Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 8 p.m. at the Blaise Senghor cultural center. Under the theme of the African Renaissance, this event will receive a group of around 60 African-American, mainly investors wishing to reconnect with their origins in Senegal, considered as the gateway to West Africa. An approach that aligns with a tendency of historical recovery and enriching cultural interactions between Africa and its diaspora.

Under the chairmanship of Bacary Sarr, Secretary of State for Culture, Creative Industries and Historical Heritage, this meal emphasizes the collaborative efforts of the authorities and members of the diaspora to promote the cultural and tourist potential of Senegal. “To attract investors, it is essential to establish links and to dialogue with the diaspora,” accentuated Mr. Sarr, by renting the long -standing involvement of the Senegalese living abroad in the creation of perennial relations with Afrodescendants. In addition, the State of Senegal envisages specific agreements to encourage the investment of its diaspora in the crucial fields of culture and tourism.

Da’African Village has been working tirelessly for 26 years to allow thousands of African-Americans to discover their African roots. Currently, due to a manifest political determination and an international climate conducive to the development of cultural identities, this meeting could represent a pivotal moment in the links between Afrodescendants and Africa. With its rich traditions, its warm welcome and its economic advantages, Senegal is positioning itself as a nerveless point of the Pan -African Renaissance.
