Guillaume Jankowski : “Yes, it seems to me to have taken my first club license in 2003/2004 in cadet and since then I have never put on any other jersey than that of the RCMB. It is therefore a long adventure, even if it is not yet at its end ”.
What are your best memories under the RCMB tunic?
“Difficult to say because I have several in mind. If I had to choose some of them I would say the titles of Champions of Burgundy-Franche Comté during the regional finals in Beaune ”.
This is the second qualification in a 32nd finale. What inspires you after a season when the team showed different faces?
“We have clearly failed in consistency in the commitment at certain times of the season. This is one of the reasons that actually made us alternate between hot and cold. I am thinking in particular of the last 2 games of 2024 where we beat Bellegarde at home 27-0 on a correct performance and that the following week we lose at home against Genlis 14-25 where we are completely transparent. At that time, there were 8 games left to hope to qualify and reach our start to the start of the season. We won 7 which is very positive, even if I recognize that the matches against Arbois and Montchanin were not very successful. But on the balance sheet, on the accounting side, we have 56 points against 52 last season. So there is progress ”.
As a captain, what is your role in the field?
“The coaches ask me for nothing special as a captain. They know me and leave me from freedom. We sometimes exchange on certain points in order to progress and during the matches I do the relay on the field compared to the instructions ”.
Are you playing third line and exclusively in this position?
“Given my profile, I think it’s the position that suits me best but I have no particular preference. I let the trainers decide and try to do the maximum. What matters is the team ”.
Your services are often excellent. What leads you to stay at this level at your age?
-“Despite my almost 36 years old, I always want to progress and bring something to the team so I try to be in condition as best as possible”.
Make way for the 32nd finals against Beaurepaire, the club of former international Marc Cécillon. A complicated draw against a Rhone-Alpes region known to have solid and competitive teams?
“Yes complicated for sure. The task will not be easy at all because it is a complete team in all lines ”.
How to prepare this meeting with two weekends without a match?
“Listed Planning, the week following the Genlis match was calm. We have to repair the small sores and “make a cool” as Ju Degueurce would say. No friendly match planned but the training is maintained and there will be a little physics to come back in shape on Sunday April 27 to Jean Bouveri ”.
The club incorporates young people, they are the next generation …
“It is an excellent thing that young people who go up in senior remain at the club and play with us. It is the club’s policy and its future goes through them. They are workers and listening to the advice that the ancients give them, even if I would more often like that they carry my bag on Sundays (laughs) ”.

“Obviously I thank my parents to follow me almost everywhere for many years because they have made miles! I also take this opportunity to salute all the other people who follow us during the outside matches (and there are many of them!), As well as at home where there are more and more people every Sunday. “I am a prognosis trumpet so I will not do. I just hope that there will be people at the stadium to come and encourage us on April 27 ”.
