The president passes the torch
Adeline Barbaresco started her intervention by warmly thanking the town hall for her constant support, which allows the club to continue playing a central role in the life of the village. She also sent her thanks to the mayors of neighboring municipalities, sponsors and partners who support the club, in particular through their advertising panels. A particular tribute was paid to the many volunteers, always present and dedicated, without whom the club could not work. She wanted to salute the commitment of players and coaches, who despite a difficult season, did everything to bring the FCT to life. Admittedly, the season is qualified as “missed”, but faced with the collective energy and the enthusiasm of the members of the club, she says she is convinced that the FCT will be able to bounce back quickly. The president then announced, with great emotion, that after 25 years of co-president, she wishes to step back. However, it will remain involved in the club, accepting new responsibilities that will be entrusted to it. His announcement was welcomed by lively applause, summarized by a sentence: “No crisis, but a page turns”.
An encouraging succession
Officials of the Rugby School (J. Verdoux) presented the encouraging figures for the next generation: 120 young licensees, an increase of 10 %, making the best rugby school in the department. The agreements with the Pouyastruc club also align 34 cadets, 34 juniors and 20 cadets. The results set out by Mr. Dubosc, Co President of the Entente, are there: departmental titles in U16 and vice-champions in U19, these teams are still in the running to win the regional title in Occitania and a qualification for the French championship. Senior side, 52 licensees are recorded.
Seniors: a difficult season
The co-president acknowledged a difficult season, described as “black season”, but he draws lessons from it to build a more serene future. The staff in place is maintained, and the arrival of Bernard Roussille, founder of the rugby school 30 years ago, is praised as a precious asset for the future. A sports commission bringing together former players and members will be created, and communication around the club will be reinforced to increase its visibility. A date was set on April 22 for the implementation of the new office and the designation of the various managers. In conclusion, Didier Lagleyse says: “A new FCT in continuity”. The sports report has been approved and widely applauded.
Financial assessment: The treasurer, absent from this GA, presented her resignation. She indicates that the accounts will not be closed until the end of the season, June 30, certain teams being still in competition. However, the members of the office who followed finances closely during the year confirm that the situation is positive.
Closing word: Mr. Grasset, mayor of Trie, concluded the assembly with very warm words: “The population appreciates you, it needs you and this club which is the sporting heart of our village. Remains that, to the extent of its means, the town hall will continue to support you. A big thank you to Adeline for its immense commitment within the FCT. We have all confidence in the future of the club.”
