Deepleaf, the Moroccan nugget of Agri-Tech, crowned champion at Gitex Africa 2025


El Mahdi Aboulmanadel, founder of the startup Deepleaf, marked the spirits during the innovation competition of the Gitex Africa 2025 by winning the prize thanks to its artificial intelligence dedicated to farmers. A that will allow his youngster to extend his impact on a global scale.

Founded by a multidisciplinary team of engineering engineers, data and financial experts, DeepLeaf offers an innovative solution to detect culture by artificial intelligence.

“This price will allow us to improve our technology and expand our coverage to more cultures and diseases”explains El Mahdi Aboulmanadel, visibly moved. “Thanks to our solution, farmers will be able to reduce the use of pesticides, optimize their costs and increase their yields. »»

A team success and an electric atmosphere

The entrepreneur did not fail to pay tribute to his team and to the energy of the Moroccan public present during his presentation.

“The of year told me that he had won thanks to the noisy encouragement of his audience. So I told my team: ‘Shout as strong as possible during the pitch!’ And they did it! »»he says with a smile. “But beyond the atmosphere, it is above all their hard that allowed us to develop this technology. »»

Strong institutional support

El Mahdi also wanted to thank its institutional partners, in particular The Digital Development Agency (ADD)the Ministry of Digitalization of and German cooperation GIZwhich contributed to the development of Deepleaf.

With this victory, the Moroccan startup confirms its ambition to democratize AI in the agricultural sector, by offering a solution accessible to all. An innovation that could lastingly transform agricultural practices, not only in Morocco, but also internationally.
