In Maro, a village in the town of Thiargny, a breeder named Cherif Ka was sentenced to 4 years in prison for killing a surprised thief winning goats.
The facts date back to the night of March 9, 2022. Alerted by his neighbor whose four goats were stolen, Cherif Ka takes his rifle and leaves alone in the bush. He then came across two individuals armed with cutting-cuts. Fearing for his life, he shoots at close range. Bathie Sow, hit in the rib cage, dies instantly. His accomplice is injured.
Arrested by the gendarmerie of Linguère, Cherif Ka recognized the facts and pleaded self -defense. At the helm, he explained that he had felt threatened, alone, in darkness, facing armed men. But the survivor’s version, Cherif El Hadji Ka, is different: he says that the shooter was in ambush and that Bathie Sow threatened anyone.
The prosecution requested perpetuity, believing that the shot was intentional. But the court decided to reclassify the facts in mortal blows, believing that Cherif Ka did not want to kill. He was thus sentenced to 4 years in prison.
