“We followed the Ferrari, then we saw that the driver wore a gold watch.” Did they try to tear it away because it was a Patek Philippe? The two Neapolitans pretend to know nothing about the value of the watch. But can we believe only one of their ?

History is repeated before the judges of Criminal court. She echoes the wave of woven watches – 123 cases in Geneva between 2020 and 2024 – in the streets of Geneva. To the point that some now evoke a “gang of patek” whose scheme is invariable.

One hour trip

As such, the operating mode of the two Neapolitans appearing before the criminal court since Monday corresponds perfectly to the canvas.

On May 2, 2024, the two thirties arrived in Annemasse where they spent the night. The next , location by the lake on the handlebars of a scooter and a motorcycle. A Ferrari appears around 6 p.m., they follow it. When the car stops in the Cornavin station sector, the first strikes in the rear view mirror, forcing the driver to take his left hand to put it back in place. But when the accomplice appears to tear the patek Philippe Nautilus, the driver manages to remove his watch and push his .

Empty -handed, the two Neapolitans go to the assault of other prey, without success. Their Geneva getaway will hardly more than an hour since they are arrested at the end of a chase in the Rive district.

The third man

On Monday, in court, the two men had no weapons to challenge the facts. Then remain explanations to provide. “We lost too much money in the games room, we had debts, so we decided to leave,” claim the two men.

But the judges are skeptical. Between their loaded judicial lockers, the false license plates, the hotel nights reserved with false papers, elements lead to believe that the two Neapolitans are not as disorganized as they want to appear.

Especially since the investigation identified a third character behind the wheel of a van carrying two-wheelers. Now incarcerated in , the man was sentenced to Geneva for similar snatch.

“Flight professionals”

So, organized crime or nickel -plated feet of brigandage? The two interpretations faced the court. To the indictment of the prosecutor Alexia Morel – she requested the expulsion and prison sentences of 3 years for two “flight professionals in the important criminal charts” – the lawyers, MesBibiane Capela and Florian Roguet, retorted by listing “the blunders and improvisation” of the two Neapolitans they defend.

The judges will decide Tuesday.
