An appointment not to be missed for poetry enthusiasts, the Maison de la Poésie de Tetouan is organizing, on May 9, 10 and 11, 2025, the sixth edition of the Moroccan poet festival in the city of Tétouan.
This major cultural meeting runs each year the cooperation and partnership relations established between the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Department of Culture of the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah, to the United Arab Emirates.
The 2025 edition pays tribute, during the opening ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 9 at the theater of Spanish cinema, to the poet Salah El Ouadie and to Houria El Khamlichi literary critic. The inaugural evening will be punctuated by poetic readings signed Salah El Ouadie, Khadija El Messaoudi and Othman El Hichou, accompanied musically by artist Hassan Chikar. This ceremony will also see the award of the prize for the first collection of poetry intended for young poets as well as the price of pioneers of the Arabic language.
-The evening will continue in music with a concert by singer Nabila Maan, accompanied by the Mohamed El Arab Temsamani orchestra under the direction of Maître El Amine El Akrami, with the participation of the artist Marouane Hajji, in a repertoire of poems and Muwashshahat Moroccan Andalusians.
On Saturday May 10, activities will resume with a critical conference entitled “Poetry and performance arts». This meeting will bring together a host of specialists under the moderation of Houria Khamlichi. It will be followed by insured poetic readings. On this occasion, certificates will be given to students who participated throughout the year in the poetic writing workshop organized by the Maison de la Poésie in partnership with the host establishment.
The fence of the festival will be held on Sunday evening in the Garden of the School of National Arts and Crafts with a large vigil entitled “Moroccan poets: voice and languages“, Bringing together a panoply of artists from different cities. This multicultural evening will be hosted by Mourad Kadiri, with a closing concert provided by the artist Youssef El Husseini.
