In the summer of 2024, the ‘Rekordmeister’ emerged from a rare white season and bet to revive Kompany, who arrived after a failed season with Burnley in the Premier League. If a new coach has arrived, the workforce has changed little. The main summer recruit was thus French hope Michael Olise, arrived from Crystal Palace.
Bayern immediately imposed its tempo in the league by winning its first four games. Behind, the Bayer Leverkusen of Xabi Alonso was slow to launch his season, losing in the second day in Leipzig (3-2). The usual dolphin of Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, has completely missed its start to exercise and is currently 5th in the ranking. Like Bayern, the Schwarzgelben also changed coach and launched the Nuri Sahin assistant as T1, but dismissed him in January due to the wrong results.
The Munichois quickly took control of the championship, still benefiting from the remarkable efficiency of Harry Kane, author of 24 goals, supported by the grounds of land olise (10 goals, 15 assists) and Jamal Musiala (12 goals, 2 assists). Kompany was also able to count on the solidity of his Korean central defender Kim Min-Jae and the reliability of Joshua Kimmich in the middle. The 30 -year -old German international lacked a single game this season.
Bayern continued to lead the dance, conceding only two defeats in 32 days (against Mainz on December 14 and Bochum on March 8). Kompany players are approaching the summer with the best attack (93 goals) and the best defense (32 goals conceded) in Bundesliga, with some boxes inflicted in Kiel (1-6), Bremen (5-0), Stuttgart (0-4), Bochum (0-5), Leipizig (5-1), Hoffenheim (5-0) and Heidenheim (0-4).
The exercise 2024/2025 is however more disappointing in other competitions: Bayern was released in the round of 16 of the German Cup by Bayer Leverkusen. In the Champions League, the Germans were eliminated in quarters by Inter while the final is scheduled at the Allianz Arena on May 29.
