In the middle of the school holidays, hundreds of travelers flock to take the bus for Spain, Italy, or the United Kingdom. A means of transport that a father favors, who leaves for Tours (Indre-et-Loire) with his son for two weeks. “For three people by bus we paid 52 euros, by train, it was double”he explains.
Bus prices are indeed lower, up to three times cheaper from operators, and this type of transport also offers security in the event of a train strike. An advantage that seduces a retiree, which goes to Spain once a month. But sometimes, for the bus too, you have to take your pain in patience. Because with traffic jams, there can be delays. The journey is also longer, with lower comfort than what some trains offer. The bus remains nevertheless acclaimed: its attendance increased by 40% compared to last year for this 2025 Easter weekend.
