News – Val -de -Travers – accident in Môtiers: a 79 -year -old motorist injured after struck a tree

A traffic accident occurred this Tuesday, May 6 around 11:30 am at the entrance to Môtiers, on the cantonal road connecting Couvet to Môtiers. A 79 -year -old Couvet resident was traveling in the direction of Môtiers when he has, for a still indeterminate reason, lost control of his vehicle.

The car came to violently hit a tree on the roadside. Following the shock, the vehicle immobilized across the road, temporarily obstructing traffic.

Injured during the accident, the driver was quickly taken care of by the emergency services. It was transported by ambulance to the Neuchâtel hospital network (RHNE), site of Pourtalès, to receive care.

The Neuchâtel cantonal police, which occurred on the scene, proceeded to finds us. The cantonal road was closed to traffic for about an hour to allow the intervention of the aid and the evacuation of the accident vehicle.
