Jochen Mass has marked the history of the motor racing of his important list of awards in both sports cars and single -seater. The German actually won the Spanish Grand Prix in 1975 but also the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989, with Manuel Reuter and Stanley Dickens. Jochen Mass began his career at the end of the sixties, first with the coast race and the passenger cars, before accessing the F2 championships, in the 1970s, then Formula 1. The pilot notably ran for the Porsche, Sauber, Surtes or McLaren stables.

The death of Jochen Mass – which had been the victim of a cardiovascular accident a few months ago – occurred this Sunday, the day of the Miami Grand Prix. The journalist of Canal + Julien Fébreau, who comments on Formula One’s race for the encrypted chain wanted to say a word on the antenna, in memory of the runner: “We will greet the memory of Jochen Mass, the German car pilot whose death we have just learned. He had been victorious in Formula 1, it was at the Spanish Grand Prix in 1975 and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989. It was a big name for Formula 1 that leaves us. We obviously have a thought for our loved ones and we salute our memory“, he soberly underlined.
