iOS 18.4.1 Corrects carplay bug and ghost apps

As expected, Apple published this Tuesday iOS 18.4.1 and iPados 18.4.1, minor updates. These versions correct several bugs identified since the release of iOS 18.4 two weeks ago.

A corrective (and expected) update

Available for download now via settings> > software update, iOS 18.4.1 is aimed at all iPhone and iPad compatible. As often with the versions (point 1), it is a stability update, without visible novelties, but with several important corrections under the hood.

According to the version notes published by Apple, This version notably corrects a problem affecting wireless carplay, which no longer worked in certain vehicles. This bug had aroused many complaints in recent weeks on assistance forums and social networks.

Another welcome correction: the restoration of deleted apps, which was problematic in some users, was also . As a reminder, many users had that Old applications deleted for a long time suddenly reappeared after update.

Apple also specifies that this version embeds several security updates, without detailing the exact content. As always, it is therefore recommended to quickly perform this update, even in the absence of new visible features.

iOS 18.5 is looming for the month of May

For its part, iOS 18.5 is still being tested, with an expected outing by May. For the time being, the new features identified in the different beta remain modest: some adjustments in the mail app, as well as a slight evolution of the adjustment application.

This version could mark The major iteration before the announcement of iOS 19which will intervene during WWDC 2025, scheduled for June 9. The beta of iOS 19 should be available shortly after the opening keynote.
