Streaming service failure-Spotify fights with fault-instead of music only silence

Instead of music only silence: if you wanted to listen to Spotify on Wednesday afternoon, you were disappointed. The streaming service is affected by a fault. Hundreds of users reported a failure on the Allestörungen.ch platform after 2 p.m.

“We are currently aware of some problems, we are going to do things,” said Spotify on his official X account.

Beware of mail fraud

By the way: Caution! Fraudsters are targeting Spotify accounts-with a particularly lousy stitch! Under the harmlessly sounding subject “Safety warning: Your Spotify account has been restricted,” a fake email currently lands in countless mailboxes.

Supposedly there were “suspicious activities” – what exactly remains in the dark. But the news sounds alarming: the account was temporarily restricted for security reasons.

Better look twice!

If you don’t look here twice, you quickly fall in the trick fraudsters. Particularly understood: The email asks to reveal identity and payment data via an attached link- and put a period of time on top. The link is only valid for 48 hours. So the pressure is part of the game!

But be careful: the mail does not come from Spotify, but from cybercriminals that are solely targeting your data. The link leads to a fake side on which sensitive information is to be tapped. The presentation looks professional – but on closer inspection, it quickly becomes apparent: something is wrong here.

Do not click on any link

What immediately stands out: The message comes without a personal salutation, the sender address works dubios, the link does not lead to the official Spotify page and the design of the mail is far away from what you can expect from a global company. In addition, the artificially generated hurry-all typical features for a classic phishing attack.

Our urgent advice: hands away! Do not click on a link, do not enter any data and move the email directly to the spam folder. If you are unsure, you should only log in via the official Spotify website or app and see if something is actually wrong with your account.
