A new mobile clinic will see the light of day in Mayotte next Tuesday for precarious neighborhoods

The Super Novae association, which participated in the management of the Cavani campaign hospital following Cyclone Chido, will launch a mobile clinic from the most disadvantaged neighborhoods from Tuesday April 22. Up to 2,500 patients can be treated in one month.

The Cavani stadium has not been a place of health for ten days. The campaign hospital, Escrim, installed to supplement an exsangue health system after the Cyclone Chido, was dismantled in early February. The latest tents welcoming some consultations have been folded. Super Novae, one of the NGOs that operated on this installation alongside borders and SOS doctors, decided to continue its actions by launching a mobile clinic from April 22.

“After a while, we no longer dealt with the consequences of Cyclone Chido, but rather chronic diseases,

tells Alexandre Chatillon, former diplomat and director of Super Novae.

“In agreement with the State, the stadium was returned to young people in the town. Discussions were then carried out with the authorities and in particular the Regional Health Agency, to continue their actions. This mobile clinic will therefore consist of “two cars with unpleasant equipment and tents, with two doctors, two nurses, two logistics/logistics and a driver”, details the director. “The needs being the most important in the Bangas, we will do what is called ‘to go to’. »The schedule will be as follows:

• Monday: Kawéni
• Tuesday: alternation between Tsoundzou and Doujani
• Wednesday: Petite-Terre
• Thursday: alternation between dzoumogne and Bandrabou
• Friday: alternation between Cavani and Vahibé

We are fortunate to be able to operate in the Bangas where there is a health need that is colossal,

continues Alexandre Chatillon.

“We will be able to support people in great health difficulties, we have already done tests, we know that needs are not filled. The premises were also identified in agreement with the health authorities and the state services.

In our discussions, there was a will of the State not to institutionalize an offer of care in Cavani, the analysis which was made is that there are enough care offers for the entire population and that it was rather a geolocated offer, to offer care to the greatest number,

Details the director of Super Novae

This clinic will offer free consultations, basic necessities or even screening. The goal is to treat up to 2,500 patients for a month. “This clinic is entirely funded by a donation from the Bernard Hayot group of 200,000 euros, it will cover the first month. Then we’re going to look for other donors for the future. »»
