While waiting to discover the unpublished content teased by Bethesda, Starfield is updated with a new patch full of corrective. But beware, this is not yet available for everyone.
After largely stirring the news in 2023, Starfield gradually disappeared from radars in the months that followed its release. Moreover, the phenomenon is such that even the arrival of Shattered Space, its extension published in September 2024, seems to have gone somewhat unnoticed. However, Bethesda does not unwind. Last March, the studio confirmed to be at work on new content provided for this year, without further details. And precisely, a new update has just been deployed … but not for everyone.
Starfield is updated with a beta patch
Indeed, as surprising as it may seem, it is a beta version of the Patch 1.15.224 that we are currently dealing with. Therefore, the latter is currently only available for players with the game on Steam. However, that the other players reassure themselves: it does not really seem to be a major update, although the patch notes are dense.
To tell the truth, with the exception of new display parameters to improve performance on inexpensive devices, most of the new products mainly concern the creation kit. It is indeed possible for creators to add New game icons, download creations up to 2 GB, and finally group them in the dedicated store.
-For the rest, The patch especially introduces a series of correction intended to improve the gaming experienceremove bugs and boost general performance. The usual things, in short. It remains to be seen when other platforms and supports will also be able to benefit from all this. Because for the time being, Bethesda has not given the slightest information on this subject.
For the moment, this update only concerns a handful of players: those who use the BETA version of Starfield. This beta update, like the previous ones, is there to allow everyone to take charge of new features before the time, or to do a few tests sometimes. If you cannot download it on the basic game, know that you can however join your beta branch. To be able to take advantage of the news before everyone else, Bethesda gives you the way to follow:
- Open your Steam library and go to Starfield
- Right click on “Starfield” and select “Properties”
- In the new window that appears, select “Betas”
- In the Beta participation drop -down menu, select “[bêta]”
- Wait for the application to download the new version of the game and the lance
