COmmen by thanking the avant-garde pitchfork. Unlike these festivals which are fading to attract headliners, the Parisian event does honor to discovery. This allowed us to see last November on the stage of the Supersonic this young English group, who then had only two EPs on the clock, but played with the effectiveness of veterans of the British scene. Created in 2021 in Nottingham, a city better known for its sheriff than for its rock stars, it is above all the vehicle of bassist Tiger Cohen-Towell and Felix Mackenzie-Barrow, who share the microphone.
The ascent of the group seems to be dazzling, from their province at the release of their first album, Drive to Goldenhammer, On the Capitol label, a subsidiary of Universal. The duo, however, has composed together since adolescence and was at the head of a previous group, Megatrain, who did not survive the Covid. Far from post-punk fashion, a dominant genre across the Channel, it cheerfully mixes room, folk and typically English classicism.
