Pedro Acosta will try to compete in the GP of France MotoGP, sixth round of the season. KTM confirmed this Tuesday evening that the Spanish pilot will be good for the trip to the Sarthe after a medical check-up passed three days from the first trials and whose conclusions were positive.
Two MotoGP pilots were operated on for a lodges syndrome in the very short break which followed the GP of Spain. Before the Thai Rookie Somkiat will sing, it was Acosta who had passed through the hands of doctors last Wednesday in order to treat this evil from which he has suffered for several races, and even in a recurring way since his arrival in the MotoGP category last season.
Generally caused by the physical effort that the powerful and heavy MotoGP requires, the Arm-Pump tends to paralyze the right forearm, the most stressed on the handlebars of these cars, causing a lack of strength and strong pain.
For this intervention, classic in MotoGP, Acosta was taken care of by Dr. Xavier Mir at the University Hospital Dexeus – Grupo Quirónsalud, in Barcelona. Operated on Wednesday, he remained under observation for 24 hours and KTM had already indicated that his participation in the next Grand Prix depended on a control exam.
Acosta therefore saw the doctors this Tuesday afternoon for this visit. They have seen that healing is properly done and that no contraindication prevents the pilot’s participation in the next event, the first trials of which will start on Friday at Le Mans.
“Pedro Acosta passed a positive medical check-up this afternoon, in Barcelona”, Indicates the Austrian team, “And he obtained the green light to go to Le Mans. A last medical assessment produced by the MotoGP medical team will take place on Thursday to determine if he participates in the GP in France.”
As with all the pilots who have undergone an intervention, Pedro Acosta will indeed have to submit to the regulatory medical examination on Thursday, but it is likely that it is only a formality. If he can go to Le Mans, Somkiat will also have to pass the same check with the doctor of the championship, Dr ángel Charter, as well as Miguel Oliveira who returns after being injured in the shoulder in Argentina.
