The sun had been shining for several days in France but the south of Europe was not spared by the rains. Dolomites had their dose before the Grand Prix and the pilots had to adapt to changing and difficult terrain.
In MXGP, the leader of the championship, Tim Gajser, won a double in GP on the circuit by imposing his Honda HRC on the two races. The Slovenian pilot played almost at home with many fans who had made the trip. 
However, he had to fight for 13 laps with our Frenchie Romain Febvre (Kawasaki Racing Team) during the first race. Leaving in front with the Holeshot, the Kawasaki driver saw Gajser put the pressure on him until he could recover first place following a small fault by the French pilot. Then these two flew a little but neutralized.
You had to look behind for the fight between Coenen and Renaux and it is ultimately the Belgian who granted himself the third place in the podium on behalf of KTM. Coldenhoff on Fantic completes the top, after having a raw weather at a podium.
The second race was quieter to Gajser who was accompanied at the start by his teammate. Then the championship leader has shown speed and regularity to fly away at the front of the race and he will finish 11 seconds ahead of the second.
The second who is none other than French Romain Febvre with his Kawasaki even if he was relatively badly gone. He had to go up his opponents one to one to pick Fernandez (Honda HRC) who then occupied the position. The Frenchman also took advantage of the fall of Coenen (KTM) who had a good rhythm but who undoubtedly put a little too much and who lost the front in a sector which did not seem so complicated. Coldenhoff (Fantic) will also take the opportunity to take the 3rd step of the podium. Coenen despite her error ranks 4th and has something to feed regrets. They gave us a very beautiful show for 4 intense laps before establishing the positions. French Maxime Renaux completes the top 5 on its Yamaha.
Gajser took the 50 points out of 50 possible this weekend. By signing his 52nd career victory, he is now 39 points ahead of the championship on Romain Febvre (274 pts against 235). Coldenhoff is 3rd in the championship with 196 points. 
The next MXGP round will take place in Switzerland where Gajser had shone last year.
Tim Gajser: I’m really happy with this weekend, two solid races. I knew that I had to start well because the overruns are always difficult on this track. Starting third from the first race, I fought a lot with Romain (Febvre) until the end before doing the overtaking. During the second race, I exceeded Ruben (Fernandez) early and just checked from there. A big thank you to my team and to all those who support me, and of course the fans who came to support me!
Romain Febvre: Honestly, I am disappointed. I felt like the fastest driver all weekend. The first race went well, but we had a racing incident with a yellow flag, I wasted time and I left the door open to Tim (Gajser) which passed me. I tried to fight but I made a mistake and I fell. During the second race, I did not take a good start, and as Tim said, it’s really difficult to exceed here. I managed to make my way to second place, but the gap was too large. I just have to continue working stronger to finally win.
