The MotoGP, the scene of an fierce aerodynamic war, saw Aprilia push the limits during the post-GP test of Jerez 2025, revealing daring saddlers and a new oscillating arm. Inspired by Ducati, the Noale brand seeks to resolve its lack of rear stability, a key issue for its RS-GP 2025.
While MotoGP has become a laboratory rolling with aerodynamics, a new battlefield has imposed itself: the saddle. After Ducati surprised the whole paddock with its first saddle spoilers, Aprilia Combined during the Jerez post-GP test with an even more radical interpretation.
Aprilia So get the wings out … down … On the RS-GP 2025, the Noale firm installed spoilers fixed at the back of the saddle, pointed out, where Ducati had lengthened them horizontally. Objective ? Better channel the air flow to the rear wheel, reduce the chronic instability of the RS-GPand offer more motor skills at the output of the turn – one of the weak points of the pilots Aprilia so far.
These elements have a major advantage: they are not subject to homologation. Unlike fairings or front scoops, these rear wings can be modified or removed at willracing after race.
A vital technical test for Aprilia
Last in the manufacturers’ classification, the brand Aprilia Play big. With Jorge Martin Injured, Noale is looking for a technical burst to stay in the leading peloton behind Ducati. The team therefore deployed a large test program to Jerezalso understanding A new swingarmmounted in particular by Marco Bezzecchiwho judged him “rather good”.
« The objective is to improve stabilitywhat we worked on all the season “Confirmed the Italian pilot.
The saddle spoiler is no longer a curiosity. Marc Marquez he himself alternated his use to Jerezby removing it for the sprint and putting it back for the main race. This illustrates how much this new appendage is a strategic element.
The question is therefore no longer if Yamaha, Honda or KTM will follow, but when. MotoGP 2025 may well become the era of saddle fins.
