The Administrative Court of Rabat confirmed the judgment of first instance condemning the municipal council of the economic capital of the kingdom to a fine of approximately 50,000 dirhams.
The Casablanca Administrative Court of first instance had, in October of last year, rendered a decision condemning the council of the commune of Casablanca to pay 50,000 dirhams to a citizen attacked by stray dogs.
The complainant had brought legal action against the municipal council, the wilaya of the region as well as the local development company Casablanca Environnement, after being the victim of an attack of stray dogs in August 2023 in the Lissasfa district, falling under the Al Hay Hassani district.
The assault took place while the woman went to work, when a pack of stray dogs surrounded and attacked her. It was only saved thanks to the intervention of a goalkeeper present on the scene.
During the trial, the commune of Casablanca had denied all responsibility, claiming that the dogs in question were not wandering, but belonged to individuals.
