Between living tradition and contemporary vision, the Caftan Week 2025 offered “a rare moment of transmission, through a masterclass devoted to new paths of Moroccan fashion”, read in a press release
Entitled “Heritage & Creation: New Moroccan fashion ways”this session brought together three major figures of creation: Sara Chraibi (Maison Chraibi), Saïd Mahrouf (Said Mahrouf) and Yasmine Erguibi (Doum). In a free and generous format, “everyone has shared their career, their convictions, their inspirations”, underlines the same source, thus offering young generations a sincere and nuanced look at the realities of the profession.
Hosted by Douja Belkhayat, the Masterclass “made it possible to open rich exchanges between the speakers and the public,” it is said. Students, young stylists, professionals and enthusiasts were able to approach with creators the place of heritage in the creative process, the relationship with gesture, matter, territory, but also contemporary issues of transmission, ethics and reinvention.
Whether it is to enhance an artisanal gesture, to divert a traditional code or to experiment with a new material, the speakers have delivered testimonies “committed, generous, often intimate”, notes the same source. The session made it possible to ask essential questions: how to perpetuate without freezing? How to innovate without breaking? And above all, how to make Moroccan clothing a language that is both anchored and perpetual reinvention?
By promoting this intergenerational dialogue, the 2025 Caftan Week “says, once again, that creation is not only transmitted: it is divided, it opens, it is thought together,” concludes the press release.
