Interns and residents in negotiations with the Minister of Health (CNIR)

The Minister of and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, is brought together on Tuesday, May 6, with representatives of the National Commission for Interns and Residents (CNIR), concerning the government’s response to the requests of , pharmacists and dentists. In an ad, this , the body expressed “the official commitment of the executive chief to increase the of interns and non -contractual residents, with retroactive effect on January 1, 2025”.

The amount of this increase will be determined “in the coming days”, while the ministry has committed to “reduce the duration of the compulsory contract of doctors with the eight -year -old university hospitals to a shorter period, which will be announced after the finalization of the impact study”. In addition, the two parties have agreed on “the official inclusion of an interns and resident representatives within the regional training commissions, for all questions relating to this category”.

The meeting also concluded on an “increase in housing and catering allowances for interns, pharmacists and dentists”, in addition to “maintaining the internal competition in its current form”, as well as “the possibility for current interns to choose between the old residatate system and the unified residat”, or even approval for interns and residents to benefit from fixed and variable wages, health.

At the end of negotiations, compulsory health insurance for interns and residents will be established, in addition to the development of a digital application to regulate the of internship scholarships, in order to allow their regularity without delay. “It has also been agreed to organize a series of meetings in the coming days, in order to accelerate the implementation of these measures in a participatory manner, taking into account the transitional period and preserving the achievements of interns and residents,” added the CNIR.

In this sense, the body praised “the positive response of the government and the ministry” to its demands. Indeed, these negotiations are involved a few months after the CNIR announced the suspension of all of its national mobilizations, including rehearsal strikes for a year and the sit-in initially scheduled for January 8, 2025.

This decision was taken “after an in -depth study of the current situation, as well as the need to preserve the health of citizens and ensure the continuity of services”, then announced the CNIR, while carrying claims on the financial and academic aspects, including the quality of the training.
