The Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, praised this “excellent” dynamic on Monday that bilateral relations between Spain and Morocco are currently experiencing.
In a speech pronounced before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies, the head of Spanish diplomacy expressed his gratitude in Morocco for his support during the power failure occurred last week in Spain, support which made it possible to quickly restore the current in several regions of the country.
Mr. Albares also highlighted the major advances carried out in relations between the two countries, within the framework of the new phase started after the message sent by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in which he affirms that “the Moroccan autonomy initiative constitutes the most serious, realistic and credible basis to achieve a solution to the Sahara.
In addition, the Minister praised the “historic record” reached in trade between the two countries, which reached 23 billion euros, thanks to the roadmap agreed on April 7, 2022.
