The Néflier campaign promises to be particularly successful this year in the rural commune of Zegzel, under the province of Berkane. The significant precipitation recorded in the region had a direct impact on the quality and volume of the harvest.
“This year is special, since the rains arrived at the very moment when the Néflier needs water to give a large fruit and in large volume,” says Benyounis Belkacemi, local farmer, in a declaration to the site Le360.
In addition to this favorable rainfall, several natural factors explain the success of this culture in the region. The surrounding mountains protect the trees from the winds while ensuring a suitable cool climate. The volcanic, rich and fertile soil, as well as natural water from the famous cave of Zegzel and wadis, offer an ideal environment for the development of the Néflier.
According to Belkacemi, this plant requires careful follow -up as soon as it is planting. “The nursing is like a baby: he needs care since his plantation. Once it has become a tree, he has up to two years to start fruit, ”he always specifies to the same source.
