This agreement was initialed by Mr. Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and Mr. David Li, Director General of Huawei Maroc, in the presence of Mr. Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa (North, West and Central Africa) and other renowned personalities.
This partnership embodies the common will of the two parties to anticipate major technological changes to prepare Moroccan youth to become a key player in change. It represents an exemplary model of collaboration between the State and the private sector, oriented towards development and innovation. Founding fully in the vision of high royal orientations, this memorandum of understanding aims to modernize higher education, to strengthen digital skills, to improve national technological infrastructure, thus making the digital sector a lever for inclusion, competitiveness and cooperation.
Carried by the strategic vision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and the recognized technological know-how of Huawei, this agreement revolves around four major axes. The first concerns training, with the expansion of the program to university teachers and the regular update of educational content. The second axis focuses on scientific research, by creating bridges allowing Moroccan doctoral students to visit Huawei R&D centers internationally. The third part is dedicated to innovation, with strengthened support for student entrepreneurship and the promotion of ICT projects. Finally, the fourth pillar aims to improve employability, by bringing the academic world to the job market closer to concrete initiatives.
Mr. David Li, Director General of Huawei Maroc, welcomed this major initiative and said for this purpose: “The realization of this major agreement is the culmination of a relationship of trust and sharing between the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and Huawei Morocco and it is an important milestone for our growing cooperation.
