The Minister of tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, said on Monday in the House of Representatives, that more than 160,000 electronic visas (E-Visas) were issued in 2024 for the benefit of 111 nationalities, an increase of 6% compared to 2023.
In response to an oral question on the return rate of foreign tourists to Morocco, posed by the Authenticity and Modernity group, the Minister said that within the framework of the 2023-2026 tourism route, several measures were taken to encourage the return of foreign tourists, specifying that this rate currently reaches 36%, against 34% before the Pandemic of Covid-19.
This increase is a “very important” development which has been accompanied by an increase in the number of tourists, the diversification of issuing markets, notably American and Asian, as well as the signing of strategic partnerships with several international actors, in addition to strengthening aerial capacity through the addition of new links, she explained.

In addition, Ms. Ammor recalled the launch of large promotion campaigns, including the flagship campaign “Morocco, Land of Light” which has covered 20 tourist destinations through digital media and giant screens in the world’s major capital, noting that thanks to the partnerships concluded with airlines, air transport capacity increased by 2023 and 2024.
