The minister of Economic Inclusion, Younes Sekkouri, reported significant progress in the implementation of the two major royal projects: direct social assistance and direct housing assistance, highlighting their role in improving the living conditions of households with modest income.
“The number of families benefiting from direct social assistance amounts to 3.9 million across the kingdom, according to a rigorous procedure”, said the minister. The budget allocated to this mechanism reached 27.1 billion dirhams at the end of 2025 and is expected to amount to 29.4 billion in 2026.
As for direct housing aid, launched in January 2024, it sparked some 130,000 requests, including around 25 % from Moroccans residing abroad (MRE). The budget for the implementation of this program amounts to 3.5 billion dirhams, said the Minister, awaiting the investigation of the remaining files.
Finally, Mr. Sekkouri spoke of higher education, an area in which social dialogue mobilized nearly 2 billion dirhams, allowing an improvement in the treatments of some 15,000 researchers. These efforts, he stressed, “Testify with a supported commitment to restore the dignity of public servants and to make the foundations of social justice effective.”
