The Kingdom of has taken part in the ministerial dialogue of the Abu Dhabi Summit of Culture, represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.

In his intervention, Mr. Bensaid reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to place culture at the center of his development project, recalling that culture constitutes both a lever for individual fulfillment, an engine of social cohesion and a large pool of jobs, noted the press release. In this sense, the Minister continued, the kingdom works to democratize access to culture through the multiplication of infrastructure, the reduction of inequalities and the strengthening of training in cultural professions.

Addressing the issues linked to artificial intelligence, Mr. Bensaid stressed that it must be considered as a tool at the service of man, highlighting Morocco’s efforts for the integration of this technology in strategic sectors such as cultural and creative culture and industries.

These technologies make it possible to enhance the historical heritage, to strengthen the country’s tourist and educational attractiveness and to create job opportunities for people, he argued.

Mr. Bensaid insisted, in this context, on the importance of a proactive approach to the challenges of digital transformation, calling to continue the international debate on copyright protection in the digital age, in order to support technological evolution while guaranteeing the preservation of creators’ .

The ministerial dialogue was co-chaired by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, and Ernesto Ottone, CEO for culture at UNESCO.

Mr. Bensaid, in his capacity as president of the regional consultations of the Arab States for Mondiacult 2025, also participated in the second meeting of regional consultations held on the sidelines of the summit.

Scheduled from September 29 to October 1, 2025 in , ​​Mondiacult is the largest global on cultural policies. The 2025 edition will bring together 194 UNESCO member states to define the World Culture Agenda in the years to come.
