During the month of March 2025, around thirty events organized by around twenty partners were offered to the public in various places in the canton of Friborg as part of the week against racism 2025. For its 14th edition, the office of integrating migrants and the prevention of IMR racism chose to speak of racial discrimination through the feeling of insecurity that undergo.
How do we experience racism when you face it? How to fight against racism and the insecurities it causes? These questions were at the heart of these three weeks. The public responded and in number to the various and free activities offered to him: conferences, music, theater and drawing workshops, readings, round tables, speech and listening spaces in chosen mix, public and school guided tours, artistic performances, youth activities and more.
From these three fruitful and intense weeks, the IMR draws a very positive assessment: quality and multiplicity of activities, remarkable investment of the many actresses and actors involved, wealth of exchanges and meetings, awareness of a large audience, strengthening of synergies and collaborations, etc. The IMR cordially thanks its partners – municipalities, associations, training institutions, specialized services – without which such an event would not be possible. The IMR also expresses its thanks to the Friborg and French -speaking media who largely echoed the week against racism 2025 in their respective mediums.
The interest expressed for the theme – both by partners and the Friborg public – demonstrates the need to offer spaces for discussion and reflection and the relevance of sowing seeds. This is all the more in a general context of increasing polarization of ideas within society, which leads to repercussions on social cohesion and the fight against racism.
