Eleven walls of the capital will be invested by Street-artists from eight different countries, as part of the Jidar Festival This year. Among the headliners, we find the Pole BestFrench Rator even Mexican Smithalongside Moroccan talents as Masawi et Azhar.
To mark its ten years, the festival innovates with several unpublished projects. The most spectacular is undoubtedly “Cubic landscapes”an installation at the Hassan II park where three artists, the Japanese Hideyuki KatsumataSpanish Iván McGill and Moroccan Bluuecrab will intervene on cubes three meters side. A way to get out of traditional walls and explore new supports.
Another highlight, the collective wall This year is evolving with reinforced support for young talents. From May 12 to 18, a dozen apprentice artists, selected on file, will work under the direction of the Moroccan graffiti artist Réda Boudina (RDS). These young talents will achieve a collective fresco together which will join the official course.
-On the mediation side, guided tours are now available in three different circuits allowing visitors to discover works from different angles and languages. Furthermore, the Jidar Talksorganized at the cafe The Renaissance Cinema scenewill offer the opportunity to interact directly with the artists.
The educational component is not to be outdone with Jidar kidschildren’s workshops (8-12 years old). Divided into small groups, participants will work for three days on a wall fresco around the theme “Draw my heritage”.
