Montreal-The darling of a darling that touched New Brunswick is over, the provincial government announced on Monday.
The first hatching occurred in June 2024 in the Acadian peninsula, before leading to the declaration of a hatching at the province last August.
During hatching, 1029 cases of darling were reported, which represents the highest number of cases since the previous hatching occurred in 2012.
According to the government, the most affected people were children aged 10 to 14, followed by people aged 15 to 19 and those aged five to nine.
Nine people were also hospitalized during hatching. No deaths have been reported.
“We sincerely thank all the health professionals and the partners of the health system who have contributed to the fight against hatching, including pharmacists in the province,” said the chief doctor-hygienist, Dr. Yves Léger.
“Their desire to intervene and administer the painting against darling at the height of hatching played an essential role in the protection of communities and in the fight against the propagation of infection,” he added.
In total, 54,045 doses of the painting against darling were administered during this hatching. This represents an increase of 23 % compared to the same period in the years preceding the hatching.
“I am pleased to announce the end of the Provincial Log Link of Pophe, but other cases could still occur in the province,” said Dr. Léger. We know that being up to date in our vaccines is the best way to prevent the appearance of darling cases and its transmission. ”
