The Saint-Grégoire golf course: a nine holes surprising near Rennes
Located near Rennes, the Saint-Grégoire golf course is a compact course of nine holes that does not lack charm. This place, pleasantly wooded for a few years, invites you to spend a few hours in a green and friendly setting. With a total length of 588 meters, this course with synthetic greens regularly hosts competitions on 9 or 18 holes for the 250 licensees of the structure. The layout, cleverly designed, bypasses a sheltered practice equipped with colorful and attractive targets, adding a fun touch to the experience.
An extension pending
Originally, a course extension project had been envisaged to enrich the golf offer. However, as is often the case, local environmental concerns, including the protection of the natural environment and threatened species, put this unanswered project. Despite these constraints, the Saint-Grégoire golf course continues to seduce lovers of the region.
Winter challenges and solutions envisaged
Winter poses a major challenge for the Golfers of Saint-Grégoire. When the terrain becomes fatty and impracticable, playing becomes complicated, and the collection of bullets turns on the puzzle. We pick up the bullets in hand, one by one, and we lose more than half
says Jean Marqués, manager of the premises. To overcome these seasonal constraints, the club reflects on innovative solutions to allow players to practice even in wet weather.
An ambitious project: a golf simulator
In the longer term, the Saint-Grégoire golf course aims to install a golf simulator, a cutting-edge technological device allowing to play indoors on realistic virtual routes. This system, combining sensors, screens and software, would offer an immersive experience to train, have fun or analyze your game, whatever the weather conditions. To materialize this project, the club hopes to obtain municipal support in order to have a suitable room.
Event not to be missed: a clearance sale this weekend
In the short term, the Saint-Grégoire golf course organizes a large clearance sale of children’s equipment and clothing for children and adults on April 18, 19 and 20, 2025. The ideal opportunity for enthusiasts to equip themselves at a lower cost while supporting the dynamism of the club.
A Guingette open to all also opened its doors from 1is May.
