Aged 38, the former striker officially retired in November 2024 after a last experience in Eyüpspor (D1 Turkish) between 2022 and 2023. Dutch international 69 times (10 goals), he was notably part of the finalist selection of the World Cup in 2010 (defeat in the final against Spain). During this World Cup in South Africa, however, he had not come into play.
