Back on the French U19 and U22 championships »French Federation of Modern Pentathlon

The VGA Saint-Maur, the federal referees and the volunteers of the Île de France clubs, who responded present, organized on May 3 and 4, 2025 the Modern Pentathlon Championships for the U19 and U22 categories.

On Saturday May 3, the 3 events took place at INSEP. The fencing competition held all its promises with a superb performance by Coline Flavin, returning from the Budapest World Cup, from where it brought back the bronze medal, but also those who were going to lead the debates to the U19 and the U22 throughout the weekend. The results proved to be very tight at the top of the male and Cilian Casanovas rankings took first place in the men’s U22 and U19 men.

The competitors were then prepared for the obstacle test, welcomed in the superb vault in a cathedral of the Maigrot hall. Diego Lavillat (around 24 seconds) among the U22 men, and Mathilde Derval with Coline Flavin in the same second (32 s) drew a nice lead there by performing a hyper tonic route.

The test was played at a very high level, since several athletes have equaled or broken their personal records around 2’00 ”in men.

It is morningby a sunny and slightly windy weather at the Chéron stadium in St Maur that the pentathletes clashed with a RUN laser with a U22 by Coline Flavin (French champion) which increased her on Mathilde Derval (silver medal at home), a very good performance by Poppy Clarke (UK) 3rd in the , (bronze medal). Among the U22 Men, Ernest Brugot went to the head of the Run laser but it was Diego Lavillat who won and won the title of champion of France U22 at home with a total of 1606 points, among other things of the event and an excellent shot, in of Karl Furderer (silver medal) and Étienne Clergeau (bronze medal). The Spaniard, Ivan Liberal, made the time in the Run laser and finished 4th in the open .

For the podium U19 , we find Alana Sintes champion of France, followed by Juliette Barnades (silver medal) and Alice Prats Alami (bronze medal). For the podium U19 Men, it is Maël Clercq who becomes champion of France individually, followed by Joan Bernades for money and Casanovas in bronze.


The title of French team champion in U22 is awarded to the VGA Saint Maur for men and Bordeaux Students Club for women. In U19, the title of French team champion is won by Perpignan the Catalan in men and women.

We had the pleasure of chatting during a friendly midday meal at the VGA Omnisports headquarters with all the athletes and volunteers.
