The Association of darts The Epicurus is one of the only associations of the genre in the region. The players meet at the village bar Le Progrès, where the machine is installed there on which they train on Monday and the weekend for those available. “Regarding the matches, everything is pre -established in advance so that we do not have too much at the same time. In general, it takes three months of selection on average per category, then we arrive in June with the final phase”explains Olivier Andrieu, owner of the bar and president of the L’Epicure association.
“Last year, we had three doublets and two qualified teams, in which we play four. On the other hand, there were only two of them individually. Some players play in doublet and team”he traces. Last year, they were new to go to the French championships which took place in Vannes, from June 9 to 16. They arrived in the round of 16.

“The French championships take place in the exhibition center which is set up with 300 machines. It’s quite festive! We play in music to cover the noise of arrows and players who encourage each other, and in the dark.” And Olivier Andrieu to continue: “We almost only see the targets. For the trip, we took three cars, the journeys were at the expense of the players. But thanks to the association that we mounted, we organize lotos in the village several times a year, which allowed the epicure to offer an aperitif and a meal on site, and to finance the accommodation. We had taken three mobile homes in a campsite located 300 meters from the exhibition park, foot. In total, the players of the L’Épicure association were selected three times at the French championships. But the year of the covid, the competition was canceled.
This year again, dart players have ranked: “We have finished the qualifications in teams but we do not yet have the results. We are currently finishing the qualifications individually. We already have five qualified doublets, eleven players who will leave for the second year at the French Championships.” They will take place from June 9 to 14.
