Max Verstappen will not be in Miami this Thursday, missing the first day of the Grand Prix, devoted to the media and interviews (to read here).
While waiting for his first child with his partner Kelly Piquet, the Dutchman said via the Red Bull Racing press service what he expects from this Grand Prix this weekend. With a joke with reference to the cone he struck last year.
“It was nice to enjoy a weekend without competition before a busy weekend in Miami!”
“The weekend sprint here is always quite intense and there is always something happening. It is an interesting circuit, with a series of low and high speed turns and spilled sections.”
“It is always quite hot here and it is one of the most physical circuits, so we will see. I can’t wait to run in Miami, there is always spectacle and a great atmosphere with the fans. And I hope that we will avoid the cones this year!”
For Yuki Tsunoda, this Grand Prix will be a new opportunity to gain strength with the RB21 and, if possible, to score points for Red Bull.
“It’s great to be in Miami and, as always, it’s hot! I really come to Miami, restaurants are excellent and I love the beach, so it’s a good compromise between a very relaxing life and a funny life!”
“I discover how much the life of pilot Red Bull Racing can be loaded and the team occupied me outside the track this week with many fun activities. It is now time to focus on the race and what we have to do on track.”
“I was at the factory with my team since the end of the Grand Prix in Djeddah and I also tried with the RB19 in Silverstone, so we spent a lot of hours together and a lot learned.”
“It’s a sprint weekend in Miami, so it will be very busy and we will have to try to maximize everything we can during this test session, then during all the time spent out of the car, with my engineers and the team. I hope that if everything is going well, we will have a smile on Sunday evening.”
