While taking care to preserve the intimacy of the quadruple world champion and his family as much as possible, the Red Bull team said that Max Verstappen would not be present in the Miami paddock this Thursday, on the eve of the Grand Prix disputed from Friday in Florida.
His participation in this fifth meeting of the season is not, however, questioned, and the Dutchman is well expected behind the wheel of the RB21 from free tests on Friday, which will be followed by Sprint qualifications.
Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet, girl you triple Brazilian world champion Nelson Piquet, await a happy event and, without giving details, Red Bull has chosen to simply formalize the absence of his pilot in front of the media.
“Please note that Max will not participate in the media day in Miami, because he awaits the birth of his child”solely indicated Red Bull at the start of the day on site, where the jet lag with France is six hours. “Everything is fine, and he will be present tomorrow on the circuit for the race weekend. No other comments will be made for the moment, out of respect for the private life of Max and his family.”
Thursday is traditionally reserved for press conferences and meetings with journalists, but it will therefore be necessary to do without the comments of the one who currently occupies third place in the pilot championship, 12 points from leader Oscar Piastri.
The Miami Grand Prix is the second of the year to take place with a sprint format, which always complicates the task of stables and pilots since it is necessary to put your finger on the right settings from the first test session. The closed park is nevertheless reopened to allow some changes on Saturday, between the sprint and the qualifying session for the Grand Prix.
