The FAO FAO for dairy products is progressing in April

(AOF) – The FAO price for dairy prices established on average at 152.1 points in April, or 3.5 points (2.4%) more than in March and 28.4 points (22.9%) more than its value recorded a year ago. International butter prices increased for the third consecutive month, reaching a historic record, with an increase of 2.9% compared to March. This flight is largely explained by the rise in prices in , due to the contraction of stocks and the high demand for dairy fat, despite higher seasonal dairy production.

The international prices of milk powders (skimmed milk powder and whole powdered milk) also increased, by 1.6 and 2.9% respectively, under the effect of a stable domestic demand and a reorientation of export interest, which went from Europe (where a higher euro reduces competitiveness) to Oceania, where the seasonal drop in dairy production has tightened the .

International cheese prices appreciated 2.3% compared to March, given the high demand for exports against the background of stocks in oceania.
