A dead in a massive ” Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Koursk

An elderly woman was killed in a “massive” Ukrainian attack during the night in Koursk, in Western Russia, local authorities announced on Tuesday.

“Koursk was the subject of a massive enemy attack that night,” said the government of the region on Telegram, deploring death “of an 85 -year -old woman”.

Nine people were injured, according to the same source, adding that city residents were evacuated due to fires in several buildings.

Koursk authorities had activated an anti-alertine alert for a missile and drone attack and called residents to move away from the windows, according to the pro-Kremlin Izvestia media.

The Ukrainian forces have occupied several hundred square kilometers in the Russian Koursk region of Ukraine.

Russian troops have been trying to dislodge them and have taken over in recent months more than two thirds of these territories.

The attack on Koursk occurs after a devastating Russian air strike Sunday on the Ukrainian city of Soumy (northeast), which left at least 35 dead and aroused the indignation of several Western leaders as well as the UN.
