Bad news for players: Microsoft today announces an increase in prices for its Xbox Series X/S consoles, as well as for games and controllers. This concerns the whole world.
Xbox price increase
Here is the detail for the price increases of Xbox consoles in Europe:
- Xbox Series S 512 Go : 349,99€ (299,99€ auparavant)
- Xbox Series S 1 To : 399,99€ (349,99€ auparavant)
- Xbox Series X Digital edition: € 549.99 (€ 499.99 before)
- Xbox Series X : 599,99€ (549,99€ auparavant)
- Xbox Series X Special Edition Galaxy Black 2 TB: € 699.99 (€ 649.99 before)
As we can see, there is an increase of 50 euros for each model. This is an opportunity to recall that Sony recently increased the price of PlayStation 5 in some regions, including Europe. The PS5 Digital has also added an additional 50 euros, with a rate now of 499.99 euros.

In addition to consoles, Microsoft increases the prices of Xbox controllers. Here are the new prices:

- Colorful wireless Xbox controller: € 69.99 (€ 64.99 before)
- Special edition xbox controller: € 79.99 (€ 74.99 before)
- Xbox controller limited edition: € 89.99 (€ 79.99 before)
- Xbox Elite Series 2 – Core wireless controller: € 149.99 (€ 129.99 before)
- Xbox Elite Series 2 – Full wireless controller: € 199.99 (€ 179.99 before)
Finally, Microsoft announces a price increase for games. For once, there is no information for Europe yet. But in the United States, the price will go from $ 69.99 to $ 79.99. This will concern certain titles. This can recall Nintendo who will offer his more expensive flagship games. For example, Mario Kart World On the Nintendo Switch 2 will (officially) cost 89.99 euros in physical version. It is however possible to have it cheaper from resellers, as Amazon which offers it at € 69.90.
The price increase at Xbox is effective today. If you want a console, game or accessory, you can quickly turn to resellers like Amazon and Fnac which still offer old prices. But it will probably change in a few hours.
