Lionel Messi missed four good opportunities and Inter Miami had to be satisfied with a void 0-0 verdict against the Chicago Fire on Sunday.
Miami (4-0-3) remained undefeated this season.
Messi took advantage of a free kick in the 62nd minute, but he touched the crossbar. Another free kick 13 minutes later spent a foot over the upper corner, then another came close to the target in the 86th.
The Fire goalkeeper (3-2-3), Chris Brady, also stopped a shot from the left foot of the star player from the 4th minute of play.
