Vanshika Saini’s corpse, a student, was found on April 27 at Dick Bell Park, where the Nepean sailing club is located.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our adored daughter, Vanshika. It was a light in our lives: benevolent, compassionate and full of potential. His absence leaves an immeasurable vacuum. We will always carry it in our hearts, “said the deceased family in a declaration sent to the Ottawa police service (SPO) and published by the latter.
Police was still trying to shed light on Monday on the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman. She would have been missing two days before the discovery of her body.
People criticized the work of the police with media, but the SPO claims to be “staying in open and continuous communication with the Vanshika family” throughout the investigation.
“To help clarify how the cases of missing persons are examined, the SPO follows a structured procedure in order to assess the risk and determine the procedure for the investigation. This includes taking into account a range of factors, including age, medical or mental health needs, and everything that suggests that the person is in immediate danger. Each case is the subject of in-depth reflection, and this was in no way the exception. We can ensure the community that the case was approached with professionalism, urgency, and a deep sense of responsibility from the start, ”said the Ottawa police.
The family has conceded that there are many questions circulating in the community.
“Please understand that it is deeply personal and while we continue to heal as a family, we are convinced that the police approached this case with reflection, diligence and a sincere commitment to keep us informed from the start. Certain details will remain deprived of respect for Vanshika and out of respect for us, ”she said.
