Russia launched a large drone attack in Ukraine in the night of Saturday to Sunday, targeting several regions, officials said, after US President Donald Trump expressed doubts about the will of Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.
A person was killed and a 14 -year -old teenager was injured in the city of Pavlohrad, in the Dnipro region, affected for the third consecutive night, said regional governor Serhii Lysak.
These attacks occurred a few hours after Russia claimed to have regained control of the remaining areas of the Koursk region, whose Ukrainian forces had taken over a surprise foray last August. Ukrainian officials said Koursk fights were continuing.
Donald Trump admitted on Saturday that he doubted the will of Vladimir Putin to end more than three years of war in Ukraine, expressing a new skepticism as to the possibility of a rapid peace agreement. The day before, Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia were “very close to an agreement”.
“There was no reason why Mr. Putin draws missiles in civil zones, cities and villages, in recent days,” wrote Trump on social networks, when he returned to the United States after attending the funeral of Pope Francis to the Vatican, where he briefly met the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The American president also mentioned new sanctions against Russia.

Russia pulled 149 explosive drones and lures in the last wave of attacks, said the Ukrainian Air Force, adding that 57 were intercepted and 67 others blocked.
One person was also injured in drone attacks in the Odessa region and another in the city of Jytomyr, according to local authorities.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that its air defenses had shot down five Ukrainian drones in the border region of Britansk, as well as three others above the Crimean Peninsula, illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.
Five people were injured when Ukrainian forces bombed the city of Horlivka, in the partially occupied region of Donetsk, said the city mayor, Ivan Prikhodko, installed by Russia.
